Welcome to Hillside Acres

We are a small farm located on the outskirts of Junction City, OR. Our farms primary focus is to raise well bred fullblood and commercial Boer Goats.

Hillside Acres brought their first goats home In April 2021! They were a pair ok Kiko/Boer cross does. We then found a Kiko/Boer cross buck and thus began our goat raising journey! Our first kidding was in March of 2022. Both our does kidded triplets, three bucklings and three doelings. It was an amazing experience for our family and we were then hooked!

We then decided to jump into raising registered fullblood Boer goats! We did keep one of our Kiko kids, Jeffery, who's basically now our farm mascot. We brought our first fullblood Boer goat to our farm in April, 2022. We have since expanded our herd and now currently have 20 goats!

We would love to help you pick out your next boer goat! Contact us today to set up a farm tour and see what we have available!

How we Mange Our Herd

A few things that we do on our farm to keep our herd healthy!

-Yearly herd disease testing for CL, CAE and Johnes.

-Monthly hands on health checks for each goat, FAMACHA, Body Score, Hoof trimming, etc.

-Deworming based on need only. We only deworm our goats if they need it. Need is based, on body score, FAMACHA score and we run fecal testing to determine what parasites we need to treat for.

-Record keeping - we keep track of all medications given, health check notes, birthweights, weaning weights, breeding dates and so much more. We believe in keeping detailed records to keep our herd healthy and make well informed management decisions.

What is our kidding schedule?

We are still working on this! Likely most kids will be due in the spring, however we are also wanting to raise some 4H wethers which will be born in December or January.
